Rouvy Rides and The LVCC Strava Club Leaderboard

If you upload your Rouvy rides directly to Strava, you may have noticed that some Rouvy rides don’t upload, and some Rouvy rides don’t count towards the LVCC Strava Club leaderboard. The following 3 causes could be the reason.

Reality Level – Rouvy’s “Reality Level” is a setting, which adjusts the level of the load, but it only works in “Just Ride” mode. The default is 100%, which is the real load. If you want a lower load, you can set it to less than 100%. If you set the “Reality Level” to 50%, your ride will be at ½ the load. If you ride with a “Reality Level” other than 100%, your ride will still be uploaded to Strava, but it won’t be included LVCC Strava Club leaderboard.

Time Trial – In Rouvy’s “Time Tral” mode, riders are competing against the clock to secure the fastest time. It works on the principal of trying to simulate a real race. You are prevented from pausing or moving your position during the ride. You have to ride the complete route until the end of the activity. If you fail to complete the route, your ride will not be uploaded to Strava, and it won’t be included LVCC Strava Club leaderboard.

Resumed Rides – In Rouvy, when riding in “Just Ride” mode, an unfinished route can be resumed when you return to it later. The resumed portion of the ride will not be included LVCC Strava Club leaderboard.

Privacy Controls – Strava’s “Privacy Controls” allow you to restrict access to your activity details everyone, followers, or just you. You have the option to set a default preference so that your activities that are automatically uploaded will use the default preference. And, the “Privacy Controls” for an individual activity can be changed. In order for an activity to appear on the LVCC Strava Club leaderboard, the “Privacy Controls” for the activity must be set to “Everyone”.

Sad News

Cycling friends, it’s with great sadness that I announce the passing of a longtime member of our LVCC cycling community, Geoffrey Rogers. Geoff passed away on March 6th.

Geoff treasured Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley and all that it offered him, his friends and his family, and the LVCC cycling community was an extended family to him.

Deirdre, Geoff’s wife, is planning a Celebration of Life for late summer or early fall. It will include a “bike ride and picnic” tribute so that Geoff can be celebrated by his friends, family, and friends in the cycling community in the way that gave him the most joy in life – a beautiful bike ride on the rolling hills of the Lehigh Valley followed by a meal with great conversations with friends (and for non-cyclists, a meal with great conversations).

LVCC and Strava

Are you a member of the Lehigh Valley Cycling Club (LVCC) and Strava? Then, consider joining the LVCC Strava Club ( If you’re not a member of Strava, consider joining Strava and the LVCC Strava club. The LVCC Strava club allows you to easily connect with other LVCC members on Strava.

What is Strava

First and foremost, Strava is an app you use to track and record your bike rides with a cycling computer or smart phone. Beyond that, you can analyze your activities using metrics such as distance and elevation and, if you have the right accessories, you can include power data, heart rate and cadence to name a few.

There’s also a strong community element to Strava by means of following friends and professional riders to see what they’re up to and rewarding their time on the bike with “kudos”. In many ways, it’s a social media platform for athletes.

One of Strava’s most notorious features is the segments. A Strava Segment is a section of a road or trail created by other Strava members so that everyone who rides that particular stretch can compare their times. If you become the fastest person on that segment, you become the King or Queen of the Mountain (KOM/QOM).
