LVCC End of the Year Update
Happy Holidays to all! We hope that you are healthy and happy as we dig deep into the holiday season. And as we close out 2023, here is a recap of our Holiday Dinner and end of the year meeting.
The election of officers was conducted and with no nominations to challenge the slate, the following were elected:
President – Carl Zvanut
VP of Touring – Greg Schnabel
Treasurer – Dave Sheffield
Secretary – Jack Helffrich
Board - Steve Banko
Board - Christine Penn
Returning Board Members – Henry Fries, Peter Heinz
The club continues to be in good financial standing due to the vigilance of our treasurer Dave Sheffield and the successful Donut Derby by Chuck Canfield and his team. Thank you to all who volunteered and rode!
We had over 400 rides last year and many days with several rides happening simultaneously. It’s great to see so many people out and about on bicycles, however, we are still below pre-pandemic levels and hoping to improve and grow our rides over the next year.
The Donut Derby was a success not just financially but mainly because everyone enjoyed the event, and it helped showcase our club.
Thanks to Paul Smith for coordinating the Eastern Shore trip and Sue and Rob Smith for the Grill and Chills. Both of these were again well run and appreciated by all.
And of course, the name changed! As of January, we will officially be known as the Lehigh Valley Cycling Club. This name better reflects who we are and what we do as a club and as a voice in the community. A lot of work has gone on behind the scenes to make this happen, so thanks to all for their efforts to make the transition.
Looking forward to a great 2024. See you on the road. Or the trail.
